Abstract
This study focuses on identifying the key sectors in Sidoarjo Regency and analyzing their impact on regional economic growth. Sidoarjo Regency serves as one of the crucial supporting regions in East Java Province, showing an average annual GRDP growth rate of 5.42% throughout the 2010-2024 period, this figure exceeds the average for East Java Province. The research methodology adopts a descriptive quantitative approach, utilizing secondary GRDP data for Sidoarjo Regency and East Java Province for the years 2010-2024, obtained from the Central Statistics Agency. The analytical techniques applied include the Location Quotient (LQ) to identify leading sectors, followed by multiple linear regression to measure the contribution of these sectors to economic growth. From the LQ analysis results, three main sectors or bases were identified: Manufacturing, Electricity and Gas Supply, and Transportation and Warehousing. The regression test indicates that these three base sectors collectively exert a significant influence on the economic development of Sidoarjo Regency, as evidenced by an Adjusted R² value of 0.998. Individually, the Manufacturing and Transportation and Warehousing sectors exhibit a significant positive influence, while the Electricity and Gas Supply sector shows a significant negative influence.
