Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged MSME players to improve the quality of their services to be more structured and accessible. Toko Kue Maroku in Pasuruan still records and conveys information in an unstructured manner and is not supported by an adequate digital interface, so the ordering and order management processes are not yet optimal. Therefore, this study aims to design a user-oriented UI/UX for the Maroku Cake Shop mobile application using the Design Thinking method. The Design Thinking method consists of five stages, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test, involving customers and shop staff in the design process. In the first iteration, evaluation was conducted through usability testing using a maze, which showed a usability score of 84 for customers and 92 for store users. The average System Usability Scale (SUS) score in the first iteration was 80 for customers and 76.5 for stores, which falls into the Good category with an Acceptable level of acceptance. After improvements and developments were made in the second iteration, there was an increase in the SUS score to 89.5 for customers and 87 for stores, indicating improved usability. The Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction (QUIS) results also showed good ratings on a scale of 1-9. For customers, the average scores were: Screen 8,18; Terminology & System Information 8,02; Learning 8,02; System Capabilities 8,15; and General Impression 8,58. For the store, the scores obtained were: Screen 8,55; Terminology & System Information 8,22; Learning 8,51; System Capabilities 8,35; and General Impression 8,53. The results of this study indicate that the UI/UX design of the Maroku Cake Shop mobile application using the Design Thinking method has successfully produced a prototype that meets user needs, has a high level of usability, and is able to improve overall user satisfaction and experience.
