Abstract
Income inequality remains a significant economic development challenge in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province, despite its relatively high economic growth and human resource quality. This study aims to analyze the influence of economic growth, average years of schooling, and the labor force participation rate on income inequality in the region during the 2014–2023 period, using secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency. Panel data regression was used as the analytical method. The results indicate that economic growth and TPAK have no significant effect on income inequality, while average years of schooling does. These findings indicate that economic growth and education are not evenly distributed, necessitating more inclusive development policies to reduce income inequality in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province.
