Abstract
Indonesia has significant potential for developing alternative fuels derived from vegetable oils, such as biodiesel. Biodiesel can be made from used cooking oil, which requires esterification and transesterification. This reaction process is often lengthy, necessitating the modification of the CaO catalyst to a super base and the use of an alternative heating medium, such as a microwave, in the hope of accelerating the reaction. The results showed that the GCMs analysis of biodiesel yielded 97.71%, meeting the 2015 Indonesian National Standard (SNI) standards.
