Abstract

The study aims to identify socio-economic factors on the performance of livestock farmers, analyze performance (income and efficiency of livestock farmers' businesses), and analyze factors that influence the performance of smallholder dairy cattle farmers in Kampung Susu Lawu, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency. The method used in this study is quantitative with a survey approach; questionnaires serve as the main tool for collecting data. The data obtained were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis, income analysis, business efficiency analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study show that 1). The average income of dairy cattle businesses in Kampung Susu Lawu, Plaosan District, is Rp 5,445,102.-/month and business efficiency is 1.21; 2). The results of the F test of the independent variable (X) have a very significant effect on income (Y1). The results of the t-test on income (Y1) are influenced by the number of livestock owned (X1), feed costs (X2), and the length of farming (X3). Conclusion: 1) Dairy cattle businesses in Kampung Susu Lawu, Plaosan District are quite profitable and efficient; 2) Farmers' income can still be increased by increasing the number of livestock owned.
