Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of education, number of industries, and economic growth on the open unemployment rate in Indonesia. The method used is a quantitative approach by utilizing secondary data from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), Kementerian Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah (Kemendikdasmen), and Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi, Sains, dan Teknologi (Kemendiktisintek). The data obtained were then processed through multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS version 25 software to evaluate the partial influence of each variable. The results of the study indicate that partially: (1) education has no effect on the open unemployment rate; (2) the number of industries shows a significant effect but the effect is only small or almost non-existent; while (3) economic growth has an effect on the open unemployment rate in Indonesia. Simultaneously, all of these variables together have a significant effect on the open unemployment rate in Indonesia. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the central government in designing policies that improve public welfare. Keywords: Education, Industry, Economic Growth, Open Unemployment Rate, Indonesia
