Abstract

Corn silk is a part of the corn plant that functions to trap pollen for the purpose of pollination. In daily life, corn silk has not been utilized efficiently because it is considered waste. However, corn silk contains bioactive compounds that provide various benefits for the human body. Bioactive components such as saponins, triterpenoids, phenols, tannins, flavonoids, and alkaloids can inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms and other disease-causing organisms. To identify and obtain these bioactive compounds, extraction methods are commonly used.
