Abstract

This Field Work Practice (Praktik Kerja Lapangan/PKL) was conducted at the Center for Human Resource Development of Oil and Gas (PPSDM Migas) Cepu from August 1 - August 31, 2024. The objective of this internship was to gain practical knowledge of crude oil processing operations and the application of chemical engineering principles in the oil and gas industry. The specific task focused on analyzing the effect of temperature on the calculation of standard volume in storage tank T-117, which is used as a reference for determining the quantity of Pertasol CA product. The methods employed included field observations, collection of tank operational data, temperature measurements, and standard volume calculations with temperature correction. The results indicate that temperature variations significantly affect the calculated standard volume; therefore, temperature correction is essential to obtain accurate product quantity measurements. Proper implementation of standardized measurement procedures is crucial to ensure accuracy in quantity determination and quality control at PPSDM Migas Cepu.
