Abstract

This research aims to analyze the legal protection provided to child victims of assault at the Jombang District Court. This study uses a normative juridical method with a statutory and case-based approach. Data were obtained through literature review, observation, and interviews with juvenile judges at the Jombang District Court who ruled on the assault case. The results of this study describe how child victims are protected from assault, in which the perpetrators are also children. In this case, the application of punishment or the resolution of criminal cases is certainly different from the resolution of criminal cases for adults. Legal protection for child victims of criminal acts also needs to be considered, as the victims are also children whose rights should be protected by the state. Children are also assets for the development of the nation and state, and their quality and future should be taken into consideration so that they, as the future leaders of the nation, can lead Indonesia in a better direction.
