Abstract

Stem rot disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum is a major constraint in vanilla (Vanilla planifolia Andrews) cultivation. Microbial biopesticides such as FOBIO offer an eco-friendly alternative to chemical fungicides. This study evaluated the effects of FOBIO storage age and concentration on disease intensity and vanilla plant growth. The experiment used a factorial completely randomized design (storage age: 6 months and 1 year; concentrations: 5, 7.5, and 10 mL/L) with three replications. Data were analyzed using ANCOVA and LSD at 5% significance. FOBIO significantly reduced disease intensity compared with the control, with the best performance shown by FOBIO stored for 1 year at 7.5 mL/L (FP23B), producing a final disease intensity of 6.365 versus 38.255 in the control. FOBIO also enhanced leaf number and stimulated vegetative growth and early flower development. Overall, FOBIO is effective as an environmentally friendly biological control agent supporting sustainable vanilla cultivation.
