Abstract

This report documents the experience of an MBKM (Independent Learning Independent Campus) Field Internship at PT. Panca Indah Jayamahe, a national company specializing in General Contractor, Supplier, and Piping. The main focus is the Radiography Testing (RT) Process on Gas Filter Pipes. The internship aimed to observe the application of engineering knowledge in the industrial world, particularly in the fabrication, installation, and inspection of pipelines, and to identify the safety level of the pipes before installation for gas distribution plants. Radiography Testing is utilized as a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) to detect invisible defects, such as in weld metal, by exposing the object to high-power radiation like X-rays and gamma rays. The report details the various aspects and methods of RT on piping, utilizing film to record the object's image. The overall process ensures the quality and safety of the gas pipeline system prior to commissioning.
