Abstract
This study aims to numerically analyze the effectiveness of Active Flow Control (AFC) using suction and blowing jet slots in improving the aerodynamic performance of the NACA 0012 airfoil. The main focus is to measure the increase in the lift coefficient (CL), the reduction in the drag coefficient (CD), and the stall delay at high angles of attack. The method used is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with variations in the angle of attack from 0o to 14o airspeed inlet 43,82, suction flow dan jet blowing (5 m/s to 15 m/s) as simulation conditions. The implementation of AFC is carried out on the boundary layer to manipulate the pressure and velocity distribution. The simulation results show that blowing jet is very effective in delaying stall and significantly increasing (CL)max. Meanwhile, suction serves to stabilize the boundary layer, contributing to aerodynamic efficiency. In conclusion, the combination of suction and blowing jet AFC is a proven strategy to optimize the lift to drag ratio (L/D), resulting in superior aerodynamic performance on the NACA 0012 airfoil
