Abstract
This report presents the results of an internship regarding the fabrication mechanism of a Scrubbing Tank at PT. Aneka Jasa Teknik Gresik, which is a vital component in air pollution control systems for cleaning industrial exhaust gases using chemicals . This fabrication aims to produce efficient equipment for neutralizing pollutants, with an implementation procedure covering seven main stages: marking, fitting, welding, grinding, assembly, testing, as well as packing and delivery. To ensure the product meets industrial standards, a strict Quality Control system is applied using Non-Destructive Test (NDT) methods, specifically the Penetrant Test to detect defects in weld joints, and the Pneumatic Test referring to the ASME BPVC Section VIII standard to test the vessel's pressure strength. Based on observations during the internship, it is concluded that raw material quality, workforce competence, and equipment suitability are fundamental factors influencing the final quality of the Scrubbing Tank fabrication.
