Abstract

This study investigates the production of liquid organic fertilizer derived from tobacco stems through a controlled fermentation process. Tobacco stems were pretreated by reducing their size to 0.5–1 cm and subsequently mixed with coconut water, brown sugar, and EM-4 Agriculture as supporting materials. Two independent variables were examined: the weight of tobacco stems (25, 50, 75, 100, and 125 grams) and fermentation duration (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 weeks). The objective of this research was to determine the optimal formulation and fermentation time that yield the best physicochemical characteristics of the liquid organic fertilizer. The effects of these variables were evaluated based on changes in organic carbon content, nitrogen content, and pH. The findings of this study provide insight into the influence of raw material composition and fermentation period on the quality of liquid organic fertilizer produced from tobacco stem waste.
