Abstract

Normalization of verbal harassment still occurs in Indonesian society, this has become a habit even though verbal harassment is a form of sexy harassment. The account @dearcatcallers.id became one of the accounts on Instagram that loudly voiced a social campaign against verbal harassment to provide education and awareness to the special community of followers. This study discusses the study of message content analysis in the content of anti-verbal harassment social campaigns on Instagram @dearcatcallers.id. Verbal abuse is defined as an activity carried out by a group of people who form greetings, whistles and comments that discuss sexism. This study uses qualitative content analysis techniques in uploads @dearcatcallers.id. The theory used in this study is the theory of social media content analysis which has four stages: choosing content, analyzing content, interpreting content, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there are three categories in feed uploads @dearcatcallers.id namely Tone, Commentary and Coarse Language. In the tone category there is one sub-category namely whistles, then in the Comments category there are two sub categories namely Commenting on body shape and Greetings, while in the Vulgar Language category there are no subcategories. The author also found aspects of social campaigns according to Ostergard, namely awareness, attitudes, and actions.
