Abstract
This internship program was carried out at PT Daesang Ingredients Indonesia, a food industry company that produces Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) through a fermentation process. The internship aims to provide hands-on experience in the application of Chemical Engineering principles within industrial operations, particularly in the stages of MSG production, including fermentation, recovery, refinery, and packaging. Observations were also conducted on utility systems, quality control, waste treatment, as well as the implementation of occupational health and safety within the plant. The internship results provide a comprehensive understanding of the fermentation-based MSG production process, the equipment used, and the company's quality and environmental management practices. Through this program, students gain practical insights into industrial process operations and are able to compare theoretical knowledge with realworld applications.
