Abstract
This Field Work Report analyses the springback phenomenon in the V-bending process of SS400 carbon steel material using a Komatsu Beyeler P200x3100 bending machine at PT. Aneka Jasa Teknik Gresik, where the phenomenon of material shape recovery due to elasticity often becomes an obstacle in achieving product dimensional precision. This study aims to identify the factors that influence springback and determine methods to minimise its effects through experimental methods by varying the parameters of material thickness (3 mm and 5 mm), bending angle (55° and 90°), and holding time (5 seconds and 10 seconds). The analysis results show that the holding time parameter has a significant effect, where increasing the holding time from 5 seconds to 10 seconds is proven to be effective in reducing the springback effect and producing a bending angle that is closer to the specifications. specifically, for 3 mm thick material, the springback value decreased from 2° to 1°, while for 5 mm thick material, the value tended to be consistent at 2°, thus it can be concluded that applying a longer holding time can improve the accuracy of the bending results.
