Abstract
This internship report was carried out at PT Sinergi Gula Nusantara PG Gempolkrep, Mojokerto. The purpose of this fieldwork was to gain an understanding of the sugar production process and the implementation of waste management systems in the factory. The production process consists of several main stages, including milling, purification, evaporation, crystallization, centrifugation, and boiler operation. Each stage is designed to maximize sugar yield and maintain product quality. The study also examined the waste treatment system, which includes gas, solid, and liquid waste handling units. Gas emissions are managed using a wet dust collector, solid waste such as bagasse and filter cake (blotong) are reused as boiler fuel and organic fertilizer, while liquid waste is treated through physical, chemical, and biological processes in the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). Based on the observations, the production and waste management processes at PG Gempolkrep have been implemented efficiently and in accordance with environmental standards, supporting sustainable and environmentally friendly sugar production.
