Abstract
The Internship Program (Practical Work) is an academic activity designed to provide students with real-world experience in applying the knowledge gained during their studies. This internship was conducted at Pesantren Baru Sugar Factory (PG Pesantren Baru Kediri), one of the sugar factories under PT Perkebunan Nusantara X. During the internship, students observed and learned directly about the sugar production process, including cane reception and weighing, milling, juice purification, evaporation, crystallization, centrifugation, and sugar packaging. In addition, students also studied the utility systems of the factory, such as steam generation, cooling water systems, and power supply, which play essential roles in supporting the production process. Through this program, students gained insights into industrial sugar processing operations, quality control systems, and occupational health and safety (OHS) practices within the plant. The outcomes of this internship are expected to enhance students’ practical understanding and serve as valuable preparation for their future professional careers in the industrial processing sector.
