Abstract
On January 7, 2013, PT Semen Gresik (Persero) Tbk officially announced its name change to PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Currently, the cement production capacities of the plants in Indonesia are as follows: Tuban I – 3,560,000 tons/year, Tuban II – 2,950,000 tons/year, Tuban III – 3,000,000 tons/year, Tuban IV – 3,000,000 tons/year, and Gresik – 800,000 tons/year. The cement production process consists of several stages: mining, crusher operation, RKC operation (raw material plant, kiln, coal plant), finishing plant, and finally packaging. The raw materials used in cement production include limestone (CaCO₃), clay (Al₂O₃·2SiO₃·xH₂O), silica sand (SiO₂), copper slag (Fe₂O₃), and auxiliary materials such as gypsum, dolomite, and fly ash. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk operates several laboratories, including the raw material laboratory, waste laboratory, coal laboratory, paper laboratory, and other laboratories that support the quality control of the cement products produced by the company. Quality testing and control are conducted through chemical analysis, XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence), and physical testing. To support production processes, PT Semen Indonesia also has several facilities, such as a water treatment unit, IDO (Industrial Diesel Oil) storage, energy/power supply unit, and plant air operation unit to meet air requirements during production. In addition, the company manages its industrial wastewater (WWTP/IPAL) generated from operational activities to ensure proper environmental management.
