Abstract

Inequality in income distribution is a crucial issue in economic development, reflecting differences in welfare between individuals and regions. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing inequality in income distribution in five districts. The focus is on per capita expenditure, average years of schooling, life expectancy, and early marriage. A quantitative approach was used using panel data regression using a fixed effect model for the period 2013–2023. The research findings show that increasing per capita expenditure has a significant positive effect, while the variable (RLS) has a negative and insignificant effect, and the variable (AHH) has a negative and significant effect. Meanwhile, early marriage has a negative and significant effect. These findings emphasize the importance of policies to improve the quality of human resources, control early marriage, and equalize access to education and health to reduce inequality.
