Abstract
The rapid development of digital technology has brought significant changes to payment systems. This has led to a shift in habits from cash transactions to cashless payments. This phenomenon is known as a cashless society, which has impacted financial behavior. In light of these changes in the financial behavior of a cashless society, it is important to examine the factors that influence financial behavior. This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of e-wallet use, financial literacy, and self-control on the financial behavior of a cashless society among Generation Z in Surabaya. The method used in this study is quantitative, with a questionnaire distributed online via the Google Forms platform to 100 respondents. This study focuses on Generation Z in Surabaya as the population, with purposive sampling used. The Partial Least Squares (PLS) method was used for data analysis. This study found that 1) E-wallet usage has a positive and significant effect on the financial behavior of cashless people. 2) Financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on the financial behavior of cashless people. 3) Self-control has a positive and significant effect on the financial behavior of cashless people.
