Abstract

The use of biomass fuels such as palm kernel shells and candlenuts has been implemented by the animal feed industry, but their energy consumption remains relatively high. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of corn cobs as an alternative boiler fuel to reduce production costs. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with simulations using RETScreen software. The results show that the use of corn cobs can generate energy savings, improve project economics such as NPV and IRR, and generate positive cash flow. This alternative is considered technically feasible, economically feasible, and environmentally friendly. Keywords: Biomass; Production Process Efficiency; Green Manufacturing; RETScreen
