Abstract

This study aims to analyze the price risk of various chili varieties in Kediri Regency using weekly chili price data for two years (2022–2024) taken from the Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS-BI) and analyzed using the Coefficient of Variation (CV) and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) methods. The results show that red chilies, large red chilies, and curly red chilies have a high price risk with a CV value above 0.5, while green cayenne pepper has a lower risk with a CV value below 0.5, indicating more stable prices. The ANOVA test showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference in price risk between chili varieties in Kediri Regency. The main factors influencing this risk are climate change, imbalance between supply and demand, and the role of middlemen in the distributionchain.Therefore, production diversification, institutional strengthening, and increased access to market information and technology are recommended. Green cayenne pepper is recommended as a safer variety to cultivate due to its price stability.
