Abstract

The rapid advancement of financial technology in the Society 5.0 era has driven significant changes in the way individuals manage their personal finances. One manifestation of this innovation is the emergence of various digital financial services, including deferred payment schemes such as PayLater. This study aims to analyze and examine the influence of financial literacy, financial attitude, and hedonistic lifestyle on financial management behavior among students who use PayLater. A quantitative approach was employed using purposive sampling, involving 130 students from the Accounting Study Program at UPN “Veteran” East Java. Data were collected through an online questionnaire designed to assess four variables: financial literacy, financial attitude, hedonistic lifestyle, and financial management behavior. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the relationships among the variables within the research framework. The findings indicate that the independent variables inancial literacy, financial attitude, and hedonistic lifestyle have an effect on the dependent variable, financial management behavior, among PayLater users. These results align with the Theory of Planned Behavior that underpins this study, highlighting the importance of cognitive and behavioral factors in shaping financial decision-making.
