Abstract

This internship report presents a study on the management of domestic waste, wastewater, and hazardous and toxic waste (B3) at PT X, a laying hen farming industry located in Blitar, East Java. The internship was conducted at CV Alam Hijau, an environmental consulting company, from February to June 2023 as part of the Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. The activities focused on the preparation of environmental documents, including Technical Approval (Pertek) and Technical Details (Rintek), as well as the evaluation of waste management practices in accordance with national regulations. The results indicate that PT X generates two main types of waste: domestic wastewater, which originates from employee sanitation and farm operations, and B3 waste, consisting of veterinary medicine packaging, syringes, and containers. The company applies the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R) and complies with relevant regulations such as the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 22 of 2021 on Environmental Management and Regulation No. 6 of 2021 on B3 Waste Management. Domestic wastewater is utilized for non-consumption land irrigation, while B3 waste is temporarily stored in a designated facility before being transported and processed by licensed third parties. In general, PT X’s waste management practices are in line with applicable regulations; however, further improvements are required, particularly in the provision of emergency response equipment and the construction of wastewater treatment facilities. This internship provided valuable practical experience in environmental document preparation, regulatory compliance, and the assessment of waste management in the livestock sector.
