Abstract
Coastline change is a complex natural phenomenon and has a significant impact on coastal areas. Monitoring coastline changes in Lamongan Regency, located on the north coast of Java Island, can be an important aspect in coastal area development planning and protection. This study aims to determine the magnitude of coastline changes in the coast of Lamongan Regency during the period 2016-2025 by utilizing Landsat 8 satellite imagery data processed using ArcGIS 10.8. The method used for processing Landsat 8 satellite imagery data is the NDWI method, the results of the data processing are then calculated using the Euclidian Distance method and the Haversine formula. The results of the study indicate that the occurrence of coastline changes in the coast of Lamongan in 2016-2025 due to the largest abrasion occurred in transect 1, precisely in Lohgung Village, Brondong District, with a coastline change figure of 81.51 meters. Meanwhile, the largest shoreline change on the Lamongan coastline from 2016 to 2025 due to accretion occurred on transect 20, specifically in Kranji Hamlet, Paciran District, with a shoreline change of 92.00 meters. A two-sample T-test with unequal variances showed no difference between the results calculated using the Euclidean distance and Haversine methods. ANOVA analysis of shoreline change between transects showed significant differences, while ANOVA analysis of shoreline change between years showed no significant differences. Thus, the integration of remote sensing data with geographic information systems has proven effective in detecting shoreline change on the coast of Lamongan Regency. These results are expected to serve as a basis for management, protection, planning, and sustainable development in the coastal areas of Lamongan Regency.
