Abstract

This study aims to analyze the balance of tuna commodities in Indonesia, forecast production and consumption, and identify factors influencing exports to Japan. The method used is a quantitative approach through descriptive analysis, ARIMA, and multiple linear regression. The results show that the 1994–2023 period is dominated by surpluses, especially after 2015 due to increased production. Forecasts up to 2030 predict an upward trend in production and consumption. Simultaneous regression shows that production, real prices, and the real exchange rate have a significant effect on exports, but only the real exchange rate is significant partially. The depreciation of the rupiah reduces exports due to high production costs due to dependence on imported inputs. The study recommends strengthening the MCS, incentives for fleet and technology modernization, and improving product quality to be more competitive in the Japanese market.
