Abstract

The increase in the number of upper-middle-class people in Jakarta has triggered higher demand for quality educational facilities, including international schools. However, the distribution of international schools in Jakarta is still uneven, with a dominant concentration in certain areas. On the other hand, massive urban development has also had a negative impact on the environment, such as a reduction in green spaces, air pollution, and an increase in urban temperatures. This final project aims to design an international school in Jakarta using a green architecture approach that combines educational functions with environmental sustainability principles. The concept of green architecture is applied through a design that prioritizes energy efficiency, the use of environmentally friendly materials, optimization of air circulation and natural light, and the provision of green open spaces. This study also considers accessibility aspects to support the equitable distribution of quality education in various regions. The methods used include user needs analysis, environmental context assessment, and evaluation of green architecture principles. The design results show that the application of green architecture can not only create a comfortable and healthy learning environment but also support environmental conservation efforts amid rapid urbanization.
