Hydroxyapatite is known as one of the important implants because it has the same bioactive, biocompatible and osteoconductive properties as natural bone minerals, so it can be used as a substitute for human hard tissue. Hydroxyapatite is obtained not only through the reaction of synthetic compounds, but also through organic compounds; one of them is a blood clam shell. This study aims to determine the kinetics of the hydroxyapatite formation reaction. Synthesis begins with calcination of blood clam shells at a temperature of 1000 C and then calcium levels are analyzed by AAS analysis. The calcined powder was dissolved with water at a concentration of 1.67 M. The calcium hydroxide solution was then reacted with a solution of phosphoric acid at a concentration of 1 M at a speed of 300 rpm at temperatures from 40 o C to 80 o o C. The solution is taken 10 ml every 10 minutes the reaction time which is then stored in the open air for 1 day. The solution was then analyzed by the complexometric titration method. The results of this study indicate that the longer the reaction time and the higher the temperature used, the higher the conversion will be. In this study the highest conversion was obtained at a temperature of 80 C of 0.5030 parts at 50 minutes. The reaction of hydroxyapatite formation from the shells of blood shells follows the equation of the speed of the first order reaction rate with the equation k = 0.50560 e-2786.11 / RT.
