Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy, investment motivation, investment knowledge, financial technology, locus of control, and risk perception on the investment decisions of accounting students at UPN “Veteran” East Java. The background of this study is based on the increasing interest in investment among students, but there is still a low level of understanding and rampant illegal investment. The research method used a quantitative approach with a sample of 93 accounting students selected through purposive sampling. Data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Square-SEM (PLS-SEM) technique with the help of SmartPLS 4.0 to test the validity, reliability, and relationships between variables. The results indicate that financial literacy, investment motivation, investment knowledge, locus of control, and risk perception significantly influence investment decisions, while financial technology does not. These findings emphasize the importance of internal student factors over technological support in determining investment decisions.
