Abstract

Economic development aims to improve people's welfare, but often leads to inequality in income distribution. This study analyzes the effect of fiscal decentralization, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) ADHK based on Industrial Sector, and minimum wages on income distribution inequality in East Java for the period 2009-2023. Data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance, then analyzed using multiple linear regression methods with EViews software version 12. The results of the study indicate that simultaneously, the three independent variables have a significant effect on income distribution inequality. Partially, GRDP ADHK has a positive and significant effect on inequality, while fiscal decentralization and minimum wages have a positive but insignificant effect. These findings indicate that economic growth as measured by GRDP is a dominant factor in influencing income inequality in East Java Province.
