Abstract

Pabrik Metil Metakrilat dengan kapasitas 60.000 ton/tahum akan didirikan di Kawasan Industri Krakatau, Cilegon, Provinsi Banten. Pabrik ini akan beroperasi selama 24 jam dalam sehari dan selama 330 hari dalam setahun. Metil metakrilat menggunakan bahan baku isobutanol yang diperoleh dari PT. Petro Oxo Nusantara. Produk Metil Metakrilat dapat digunakan sebagai bahan memproduksi polimetil metakrilat (PMMA), bahan pembuatan pelapis, resin, perekat, cat, dan peralatan medis seperti semen bedah dan prostesis gigi. Bahan kimia Metil Metakrilat dapat diproduksi dengan beberapa macam proses, yaitu proses Acetone Cyanohydrin (ACH), Metil Metakrilat dari Isobutilena, Metil Metakrilat dari Etilen, dan Dekomposisi Isobutanol. Proses pembuatan Metil Metakrilat menggunakan proses Dekomposisi Isobutanol secara singkat yaitu dimulai dengan mengubah fase isobutanol ke fase gas dan melakukan dekomposisi isobutanol dalam reaktor dengan konversi 98,83% untuk mendapatkan gas isobutilen. Gas isobutilen akan dilakukan oksidasi dalam reaktor dengan konversi 72,7% untuk mendapat gas metakrolein. Gas metakrolein akan dirubah fase menjadi liquid untuk dimasukkan ke dalam reaktor esterifikasi dengan konversi 70% untuk mendapatkan produk Metil Metakrilat. Ketentuan pendirian pabrik Metil Metakrilat yang telah direncanakan dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: 1. Kapasitas Produksi : 60.000 Ton/Tahun 2. Bentuk Organisasi : Perseroan Terbatas 3.
