Abstract
The batik production process goes through several stages, ultimately producing waste containing organic matter, TSS, and dyes. One effective and simple method for treating batik wastewater is using a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR). The combination of biological, physical, and chemical treatment can reduce batik wastewater pollutants to meet quality standards. This study aims to determine the effect of media type, hydraulic retention time, adsorbent mass, and chemical ratio in the Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor-Adsorption-Fenton Oxidation on reducing batik wastewater pollutants. The results showed that the best COD and BOD removal were found in the wood media type at HRT 48 hours of 90.4% and 93.94%. In addition, the best color removal in wastewater occurred in the MBBR wood charcoal media HRT 8 hours, namely 78.93%. The best TSS removal was found in the type of media kaldness K3 at HRT 48 hours of 88.89%. The highest TSS and color removal values were found in MBBR K3-adsorption of 20 grams of adsorbent mass, HRT 48 hours with values of 94.4% and 90.3%. The highest BOD and COD removal values were found in MBBR Wood Charcoal-adsorption of 20 grams of adsorbent mass, HRT 48 hours, namely 95.8% and 93.6%, respectively. The ratio of hydrogen peroxide to ferrous sulfate in the chemical process of Fenton oxidation is balanced at a ratio of 1: 3 with a decrease in TSS reaching 97.2% of the initial value and Color 95.4%. So the final TSS and Color values of the processing are 10 mg/l and 46.1 Pt-co.
