Abstract
Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a form of protection for workers, and is a basic right of every worker. Based on this, an identification of unsafe action and unsafe conditions is needed for workers in industrial production areas, besides that, an analysis of the relationship between worker characteristics, OHS knowledge level, OHS attitudes towards work accidents in the Livestock Feed Industry in the Margomulyo Industrial Estate, Surabaya, will be carried out. used as a consideration for improving the OHS system. The objectives of this study are: 1) Knowing the unsafe action of workers in the production area of the Animal Feed Industry in the Margomulyo Industrial Estate, Surabaya; 2) Knowing the unsafe condition of workers in the production area of the Animal Feed Industry in the Margomulyo Industrial Estate, Surabaya; 3) Knowing the relationship between worker characteristics, OHS knowledge level, OHS attitudes towards work accidents in the Animal Feed Industry at Margomulyo Industrial Estate Surabaya. The conclusions of this study are: 1) Unsafe action that occurs in the Department of Animal Feed Industry Production Margomulyo Industrial Estate Surabaya is low and the type of unsafe action that is most often carried out is lifting an item in an incorrect position (83.33%); 2) The unsafe condition felt by workers in the production area of the Animal Feed Industry in the Margomulyo Industrial Estate, Surabaya is quite/moderate and the type of unsafe condition that is most often felt by workers is that they often feel thirsty and often drink while working (96.67%); 3) There is a relationship between years of service, unsafe action, and unsafe conditions on work accidents with a significance value of 0.000, respectively; 0.001; 0.035 and the correlation coefficient, respectively, is -0.627; 0.574; 0.387. The relationship between years of service and work accidents means that the higher one's tenure, the lower the accident rate with the strength of the strong relationship between the employee's tenure and work accidents. tends to be higher with the strength of a fairly strong relationship between unsafe actions carried out by employees of the Animal Feed Industry at Margomulyo Industrial Estate Surabaya and work accidents, and the relationship between unsafe conditions and work accidents means that the higher the unsafe condition, the higher the accident rate tends to be with the strength of the weak relationship. between unsafe conditions and work accidents.
