Abstract
Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) is an important horticultural crop in Indonesia, but its production has declined due to land degradation from excessive chemical fertilizer use. While 400 kg/ha NPK (10 g/plant) is considered optimal, sustainable farming encourages gradual dosage reduction through PGPR (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) from cassava rhizospheres. This study, conducted from February–June 2025 in Surabaya using a factorial RBD (NPK dosages: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%; PGPR frequencies: every 1, 2, 3 weeks), showed that 75% NPK with PGPR every 3 weeks produced the highest fruit set. The 100% NPK dose excelled in most growth traits, while PGPR every 2 weeks maximized yield parameters, and weekly application favored vegetative growth.
