Abstract
Spring onions (Allium fistulosum L.) are a type of vegetable that has the potential to be cultivated intensively and commercially. Organic cultivation of spring onions has very low productivity due to the use of planting media and fertilizers that do not meet standards. This study aims to determine the composition of the planting media and the best dosage of chicken manure to optimize the growth and yield of scallions. This study is a factorial experiment arranged using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the composition of the planting media which consists of 3 types, namely K1 = Soil : Rice Husk Charcoal (1 : 1), K2 = Soil : Compost (1 : 1), K3 = Soil : Rice Husk Charcoal : Compost (1 : 1 : 1). The second factor is the dosage of chicken manure which consists of 4 levels, namely D0 = without chicken manure (control), D1 = 80 g /plant, D2 = 100 g /plant, D3 = 120 g /plant. The results showed an interaction between the planting medium composition and the chicken manure dosage. A single treatment of soil:compost (1:1) and a single treatment of 120 g of chicken manure/plant provided the best results for the growth and yield of spring onions.
