Abstract
Pentaerythritol is a chemical compound synthesized from formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and sodium hydroxide, and is widely used in the paint, ink, textile, and lubricant industries. The establishment of a pentaerythritol plant in the Cikande Modern Industrial Area, Serang, Banten, aims to meet the growing domestic demand and support the development of Indonesia's industrial sector. The production process involves reacting the raw materials in a reactor, separating the by-product sodium formate, followed by crystallization and packaging, resulting in a final product with 98% purity. The plant will have a capacity of 40,000 tons per year, operate as a Limited Liability Company (PT), run 24 hours a day for 330 days a year, and employ 244 workers. Economically, the total capital investment is approximately IDR 1.56 trillion, with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 41%, a Payback Period (PBP) of 4.8 years, and a Break-Even Point (BEP) of 33.79%, indicating that the project is financially feasible.
