Abstract
Abstract The existence of biogas waste which is usually be disposed of can be processed again into useful products. Struvite crystallization technology (MgNH4PO4.6H2O) is a reaction process that utilizes ions in biogas water waste to be precipitated to form struvite. Struvite is a crystal consisting of magnesium, ammo- nium and phosphate in the same concentration (MgNH4PO4.6H2O). This report studied the formation of crystalline struvite with variable pH of solution and aeration rate in the insulated column reactor that works continuously with Mg: PO4: NH4 molar ratio 1: 1: 1. At the analysis results showed that the highest P element content in struvite minerals formed under pH 12 conditions with an air rate of 1.5 L / min which is 58.9%.The results of the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and XRD (X-Ray Diffractometer) analysis of struvite minerals are proven by the orthorombic crystal form.
