Abstract

PT Petrokimia Gresik is a company that produces fertilizers and non-fertilizers. One of the production departments at PT Petrokimia Gresik is Production Department II B. Production Department II A has seven factory units and utility unit II. One of the units in Production Department II B is the Phonska IV unit. The NPK Phonska I production unit was established in 2009 with an initial capacity for producing SP-36 fertilizer of 500 tons per year. In 2010, it underwent a design change to produce NPK Phonska reaction fertilizer 15-15-15/15-10-20 with a capacity of 600,000 tons per year. Generally, the core process of forming NPK Phonska fertilizer slurry takes place in the pre-neutralizer reactor (PN), followed by granulation in the granulator. The pre-neutralizer tank and granulator drum are the main equipment used in the Phonska fertilizer production process. The pre-neutralizer tank is where the slurry formation reaction occurs from the reaction of ammonia, sulfuric acid, and phosphoric acid. The slurry formed in the preneutralizer tank is pumped into the granulator drum, where the granulation process occurs, resulting in the formation of Phonska granules. The raw materials used are divided into two types: liquid raw materials and solid raw materials. Liquid raw materials consist of ammonia, sulfuric acid, and phosphoric acid, which are reacted in the pre-neutralizer reactor (PN). Solid raw materials, such as KCl, urea, and ZA, along with fillers, are added to the granulator via a drag conveyor.
