Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country that produces a wide variety of agricultural products. One of the most widely produced agricultural products is rice. Rice husk is an abundant agricultural byproduct, Although rice husk has been utilized in various fields (e.g., as a biofertilizer, as a livestock feed, as an absorbent, and as a building material),it is still often considered a waste product from rice milling and, as such, is often burned in the open air or discarded. Controlled combustion of rice husks can produce silica at 87%-97% dry weight. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effect of particle size and combustion time on silica obtained from rice husk ash.
