Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability, liquidity, and sales growth on financial distress in food and beverages manufacturing subsector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2019-2023. Profitability was measured using Return on Assets (ROA), liquidity using current ratio, and sales growth was calculated from annual sales growth. Financial distress was measured using the Altman Z-Score model. This study employed a quantitative approach with panel data regression analysis method. The sample was determined using purposive sampling technique, resulting in 85 observations from 17 companies. The research findings indicate that profitability, liquidity, and sales growth do not have a significant effect on financial distress. This suggests that these three variables are not dominant factors in influencing companies' financial difficulties conditions in this subsector during the studied period. This research is expected to provide insights for company management, investors, and regulators in identifying potential financial distress and formulating more effective financial management strategies.
