Abstract
The low interest of the younger generation to be involved in the agricultural sector is a serious challenge for development in realizing food security. Through the Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Support Services (YESS) Program, it is one of the government's efforts to support farmer regeneration by increasing the number and quality of young farmers through increasing entrepreneurial capacity. This study aims to analyze the effect of the YESS Program on the entrepreneurial capacity of young farmers in Pucanglaban District, Tulungagung Regency. The study was conducted with a descriptive quantitative approach using the SEM-PLS method. The independent variables analyzed included skills training, access to financial services, marketing assistance, and policy strengthening, while the dependent variable was the entrepreneurial capacity of young farmers. The results showed that skills training, access to financial services and marketing assistance showed a positive and significant effect, while policy strengthening showed no significance on the entrepreneurial capacity of young farmers. This study strengthens the importance of skills training combined with the provision of financial services and appropriate marketing access to young farmers as a strategy to encourage the development of young entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. There needs to be an increase in the effectiveness of policy strengthening through improving implementation and expanding reach to be more relevant to the needs of young farmers.
