Abstract
Tutur District serves as a hub for cut chrysanthemum production in East Java; nonetheless, there exists a discrepancy between production quality and market demand. This study aims to assess the quality of standard and spray varieties of cut chrysanthemums cultivated by farmers in Tutur District, evaluate the alignment of cut chrysanthemum quality with market demand, and identify the equilibrium point of pricing alongside supply and demand. The employed methodology is quantitative descriptive, utilizing primary data gathered via surveys and interviews with 56 farmers and 6 chrysanthemum flower collectors. Data analysis was performed via gap analysis and market equilibrium analysis via simple linear regression. The research findings demonstrate that standard-type chrysanthemums are categorized as Class B, but spray-type chrysanthemums are classified as Class A. A quality disparity persists regarding damage extent, bloom intensity, and quantity of flower buds. The equilibrium price for standard-type chrysanthemums is Rp1,145 per stem, with a quantity of 227,730 stems, whereas for spray-type chrysanthemums, it is Rp1,041 per stem, with a quantity of 441,129 stems. The market frequently encounters imbalances, manifesting as either surplus demand or surplus supply, with collectors reaping the benefits. The quality of chrysanthemums is satisfactory but does not yet entirely conform to market standards. Policy recommendations encompass enhancing farmers' technical competencies, supplying superior crop types, and modifying harvest schedules to correspond with market need. Keywords: quality, market demand, gap analysis, chrysanthemum, and market equilibrium.
