Abstract
This study aims to analyze in depth the influence of population, economic growth, and regional levies on Regional Original Income in Tulungagung Regency during the period 2015 to 2024. The background of this study is based on the dynamics of Tulungagung PAD which has fluctuated although in general it shows an increasing trend from year to year. The increasing population is expected to be able to expand the tax and levy base, while positive economic growth contributes to increasing economic activity of the community which ultimately has an impact on regional revenue. This study uses a quantitative method with a multiple linear regression analysis approach. Secondary data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Tulungagung Regency and related agencies. The independent variables in this study include population, economic growth measured through GRDP at current prices, and regional levies which mostly come from motor vehicle testing levies and other public services. The analysis was carried out using a classical assumption test that includes normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation tests to ensure that the regression model is feasible to use. Furthermore, the F statistical test and t test were conducted to determine the simultaneous and partial effects of each variable on PAD. The results of the study showed that simultaneously the number of population, economic growth, and regional levies had a significant effect on the Original Regional Income of Tulungagung Regency. Partially, economic growth had the most dominant effect, followed by the number of population and regional levies. This proves that the better the rate of economic growth, the greater its contribution in driving the increase in PAD. Meanwhile, a large population opens up opportunities for increasing the tax base and levies, although it must be balanced with optimal human resource management. These findings are expected to be strategic input for the Tulungagung Regency Government in formulating policies that support the optimization of PAD sources, improve the governance of regional levies, and encourage inclusive and sustainable economic growth. This study is also expected to be a reference for further research related to regional financial management and fiscal policy at the district level. Keywords: Population, Economic Growth, Regional Levy, Original Regional Income, Tulungagung Regency.
