Abstract

This study aims to compare the performance of internet stability and how the network performs using two different balancing methods, the Equal Cost Multi-Path (ECMP) and Per Connection Classifier (PCC) methods. The research method used involves four main stages, namely needs analysis, topology design, load balancing method configuration, and finally analysis using test data results. The results of this study indicate that the ECMP method is better for implementing load balancing on networks with high efficiency requirements, throughput stability, and fast response in the data transfer process. While the PCC method is good for networks that prioritize delay stability and minimize packet loss under certain conditions. In the percentage results, the ECMP method in download activities produces a higher average throughput reaching 7079 Kbps, while PCC is only 6634 Kbps, a difference of around 6.7%. In browsing activities, ECMP recorded an average delay of 3.4 ms vs PCC 5,455 ms, indicating that ECMP has a delay of up to 80% smaller. The ECMP method has up to 175% lower jitter than PCC for a data size of 50 MB. The average download time of the ECMP method is 5.34 seconds faster than PCC. The average upload time of the ECMP method is more efficient, 26.67 seconds ahead of PCC. Thus, in this study the ECMP method is better for implementing load balancing on networks with high efficiency requirements, throughput stability, and fast response in the data transfer process..
