Abstract
This study aims to analyse the direct influence of regional gross domestic product (RGDP) per capita, education, income inequality, and investment on poverty levels in nine cities in East Java Province. The method used is descriptive quantitative analysis with panel data regression analysis using EViews 13 software, through the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) determined based on the Chow test and Hausman test. The secondary data used is from the 2019-2023 period, obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and the Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Agency of East Java Province. The results of the study indicate that per capita GDP has a negative and significant effect on poverty, meaning that an increase in per capita GDP can reduce poverty levels in urban areas. Conversely, domestic investment (PMDN) has a positive and significant effect, indicating that an increase in PMDN investment has not yet had a direct short-term impact on reducing poverty, and is even correlated with an increase in poverty rates. Meanwhile, the variables of education, income inequality, and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) do not show a significant impact. This study provides strategic insights for local governments in formulating inclusive poverty alleviation policies that are oriented toward improving the overall and sustainable quality of life for the community. Keywords: Poverty, GDP per Capita, Education, Income Inequality, Investment
