Abstract

The demand for grapes is not matched by an increase in domestic production, resulting in a reliance on imports to meet supply. One effort that can be made to boost grape production in Indonesia is by providing high-quality grape seedlings through vegetative propagation, specifically stem cuttings. This study aims to determine the effect of planting media composition and plant growth regulator (PGR) from mung bean sprout extract on the growth of grape cuttings. The research was conducted in Jati Subdistrict, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta City, from June to September 2024. This study was a factorial experiment using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was the planting media composition, which included 3 levels: soil; soil + rice husk charcoal + chicken manure (1:1:2); and soil + rice husk charcoal + chicken manure (1:2:1). The second factor was the concentration of mung bean sprout extract PGR, which consisted of 4 levels: 0%, 25%, 50%, and 75%. The results showed that the combination treatment of planting media composition with soil + rice husk charcoal + chicken manure (1:1:2) and 50% mung bean sprout extract concentration produced the best average leaf area and fresh root weight.
