Abstract
Development construction, especially in the field of industry, require thinking and action to minimize the negative impact of industrial waste on environmental pollution. Industrial waste generally contains toxic organic or inorganic compounds that have a negative impact on human health. The purpose of this research is to set aside the soluble metal content of Cr in planting media using water plant (Ipomoea aquatica). In this study varied the composition of planting media (batik waste: Refill water) of 30:70; 70:30, and 100:0 and (Batik waste: aquades) and vary 15 days contact time with sampling time every 10, 13, 16, 19, and 22 days to get the most optimum result. The stage of this research is the retrieval of crops, acclimatization, RFT, then the process of phytoremediation. The result of this research was obtained that water kangkung plants (Ipomoea aquatica) can decrease the dissolved metal Cr by 67.5% in the composition of the planting media (batik waste: Refill water) 30 70 at a sampling time of 10 days after passing the RFT process at 66.8%, and the composition of the planting media (batik waste: aquades) 30 70 at the 10-day sampling time after passing the RFT process. The water plant (Ipomoea aquatica) is a hyperkumulator plant that can help set aside heavy metals in wastewater. Keywords : Phytoremediation, water kangkong (Ipomoea aquatica), Batik waste
