Abstract
ABSTRACT The city of Pasuruan has strategic position as a link between the city of Surabaya and other big cities in East Java so that those cities experience rapid growth in terms of economy, social, and trade, this also has an impact on the growth of population of the city of Pasuruan. The increasing volume of vehicles on several main roads has an impact on increasing levels of CO2 exhaust emissions which worsen air quality in the area. This study aims to determine the correlation between CO2 gas emission level and vehicle volume level. The data collection was carried out directly through field observations on several roads in the area of Pasuruan which were carried out during working days at 06.30 - 08.30 (WIB) and 16.00 - 18.00 (WIB). The results of the study were analyzed using the help of established methods and were regressed to determine the correlation coefficient value between CO2 gas emission level and vehicle volume in the area of Pasuruan. The results of the study were then visualized using the help of ArcGIS software which produces a thematic map. The results of this study are that the road with the highest vehicle volume is Jalan Veteran at 1288,7 smp/hour, and the lowest vehicle volume is on Jalan WR Supratman at 194 smp/hour. The road with the highest CO2 gas emission level is Jalan Veteran II at 1552 ppm, and the lowest CO2 gas emission level is on Jalan Veteran I at 435 ppm. The largest regression result between vehicle volume and CO2 gas emissions obtained an R2 value of 0.2147 with the equation y = -1E-07x3 - 0.0008x2 + 0.7008x + 882.04. This means that vehicle volume contributes to CO2 gas emissions by 21.47%. Keywords: CO2 Gas Emissions, Correlation, Vehicle Volume
